Value of Financial Planning: Moving from ROI to ROL

I recently ran across an article containing the infographic below regarding the 6 core values a (good) financial planner provides. The article positions that successful financial planning extends beyond “Return On Investment” to truly focus on achieving a better “Return On Life”. I love that perspective!

Meredith Moore summarized it well in her Forbes article “Where Is The Value In Financial Planning?”

It’s not just about money, though. Professional financial planning services can give you a psychological boost that could make you measurably happier by reducing stress and freeing up your time to focus on the things that matter to you.

So in a nutshell, professional financial planning can potentially lead to better decisions, more money, less financial risk, less stress, more leisure time at your disposal and a happier life. How’s that for value?

I couldn’t agree more.
